It’s been a bit like a British Bank Holiday weekend here in the north of Tenerife – grey and drizzly. As a Canario commented to us “It’s Easter, it always rains”. Which seems to be a given like “It’s carnaval, of course there’s going to be a storm”.
So it was with some reluctance that we dragged ourselves up to La Laguna to watch the Magna Procession at 5pm on Viernes Santos (Good Friday).
It was cool and overcast in La Laguna, but as always I’m glad we made the effort to see this most dramatic of processions. I have to confess to being slight unnerved every time I looked through the camera lens and found an anonymous pair of eyes staring back from inside those hooded cloaks.
Here are a couple of shots of the procession to give you a taster.
