Am I Bovvered? Man U 0- Reading 0

There aren’t many Brits here at the moment, so there weren’t any ABUs to gloat at the result in the bar where I watch Man U’s matches. It wasn’t pretty, but it was effective. You’ve got to hand it to Steve Coppell, his tactics, plus another American goalie playing a blinder against us kept us at bay for the opening fixture.  I don’t think we played badly and there were some good passing moves, but Reading’s defense did a good job; all credit to them.

I don’t think anyone played badly. Scholes was careless a couple of times and got caught on the ball as did Carrick, Giggsy showed some flashes of old, and John O’Shea did quite well in another new position.  Pleased to see Ronaldo looking hungry, Nani looking as though he could be in the same mould and Evra showing some nice touches in his midfield. Rooney of course is a blow. Looks like another season where we’re starting with a shedload of injured players; it’s an unfortunate part of the game, but you have to deal with it. So am I bovvered. No, as long as we win on Wednesday.
